Trying Too Hard

| The Tao Chapter 73 – My Third Interpretation|

Why are you in a rush, trying to be better than someone else, speak louder than someone else, and make your plan happen in your way when there is a path that happens with ease?

Life does have a flow that streams in your favor when you allow it.

This current that carries you does not need to overtake or outshine anyone in any way for you to ‘win.’ No strategy is required, other than you let go of the reins of control, cease resisting what is, and do with all diligence and love the opportunities that life puts before you.

It all begins with one surrender. It continues with the next, then the next, then the next. Over time, you will discover that life happens for you with ease. Then you will smile with pure inner joy and gratitude.

But first, your first surrender.

LIVING THE TAO: Today, choose one thing you have been trying to control with your worrisome thoughts. Inhale a breath of life, exhale the reins of control. Let go of that situation., walk away allowing your thoughts to be consumed with present moment work and later you will see how things work themselves out.

My 2018 focus is to intentionally live the Tao Te Ching. This is my third reading of Stephen Mitchell’s translation. I share my daily interpretations hoping to inspire you to do the same.
