| The Tao Chapter 24 – My Third Interpretation|

She who tries to gain advantage by lording herself over others, ends up losing her footing.

If you try to outshine others by deliberately dimming their light, yours has already been dimmed.

Claiming an identity based on your status demonstrates that you do not know your true nature.

Exerting power over others leads to disempowering yourself; clasping to what you do, leads to emptiness.

To empower yourself, align your intentions with your true nature and follow the breadcrumbs that life leaves you. Do the work life puts before you with all diligence, and its flow will establish your radiance.

LIVING THE TAO: Today, contemplate how you approach your work. Is it with deliberate intention and gratitude for its lessons and purpose, or it is with misery and complaining trying to force it on others. If the latter, adjust your disposition and welcome it as a part of your path. Soon you will see it will become lighter until it has passed. And you will shine because of your example.

My 2018 focus is to intentionally live the Tao Te Ching. This is my third reading of Stephen Mitchell’s translation. I share my daily interpretations hoping to inspire you to do the same.
