| The Tao Chapter 24 – My Second Interpretation |

As you would plant your feet firmly on the ground for your foundation, firmly root your heart and mind in the truth of your existence.

As rushing ahead slows you down, striving leads to nowhere.

Forcing others to acknowledge you dims the light you strive to shine.

Defining yourself by what you do or have indicates that you feel undefined.

As you lord over others, you lose power over yourself.

And as you cling to your efforts, they fade away.

For success in life,  simply move with its flow in all life puts before you, and allow the outcome to unfold.

LIVING THE TAO: Try this:

1. Identify an opportunity before you (a task to complete).
2. Pay attention to your actions as you complete the task with 100% of your best effort.
3. Release it after and completion and observe the result.
4. Answer this—what did you notice during and after the process?

My 2018 focus is to intentionally live the Tao Te Ching. This is my second reading of Stephen Mitchell’s translation. I share my daily interpretations hoping to inspire you to do the same.
