Life’s flow favors harmony.

Where there is disharmony, events will arise to bring about harmony. Where there is a void, circumstances will come to fill it.

Attempts to protect imbalances in power or disharmony in fairness will inevitably be interrupted.

The flow of life will eventually correct it. Sometimes the flow may seem swift, other times slow. To one it may feel disruptive and to another, welcomed. But it does not have an agenda, only its purpose to be what it is: a natural flow.

The wise know to deliberately lean in the way of harmony. This way she experiences the favor of flow.

LIVING THE TAO: Today, reflect on a time when you experienced imbalance in your life. What happened to bring balance back? Did you become ill or lose an opportunity? Use the memory to learn that something will always happen to return to harmony, so you might as well create it yourself.

My 2018 focus is to intentionally live the Tao Te Ching. This is my second reading of Stephen Mitchell’s translation. I share my daily interpretations hoping to inspire you to do the same.
