The Tao Chapter 38 – My Interpretation
Strive for power, and you are always striving. Be in the strength of who you are, and power is always yours.
Make life happen by your force and you are always making. Allow life to flow through you, and your purpose is served.
Even with good intentions, your work from striving is simply an exercise in creating more work. It is in being still that opportunities to express your true power open themselves to you and you are able to contribute to the world with your gifts, without striving.
So, avoid the illusion of appearances. They are distracting. Instead, hone in on deeper truths of life so that your fruit aligns with reality.
As I read Stephen Mitchell’s translation of the Tao Te Ching daily, I reflect and document my interpretation with the intention of living the Tao.
