Bring Peace to the Moment

| The Tao Chapter 16 – My Third Interpretation|

Practice not getting caught up in the distractions of life.

When circumstances become hectic, calm your mind by following the inhale and exhale of your breath. Over time, this momentary peace will become lasting peace.

When others are whirling in their antics, remember we all return to where we came from.

The flesh goes to dirt, but the essence returns.

Remember this about yourself. Remember the truth of your nature. This memory will help you to be more tolerant, recognizing the reality of what surrounds you—distractions.

Be cloaked in the truth about who you are. With time, the heaviness of life becomes lighter.

LIVING THE TAO: Today, as your emotions get caught up in something that is displeasing, ask yourself, “At the end of it all when I breathe my last breath, would the energy I am giving this situation really seem necessary?” If the answer is no, connect to your breath allow peace in the moment, and return to enjoying your journey.

My 2018 focus is to intentionally live the Tao Te Ching. This is my third reading of Stephen Mitchell’s translation. I share my daily interpretations hoping to inspire you to do the same.
