With failure comes the anxiety of fleeing from it. Success ushers the anxiety of how to keep it. In this way, they are both unstable.

Hope evokes the desire for what you cling to. Fears musters the desire to avoid, which is also clinging in another form. In this way, they are both illusions that conjure worry.

Detach from the way you think things are supposed to be and accept the way they are.

Trust that life lovingly unfolds as it should for the benefit of all involved.

Know that the universe conspires in your favor.

LIVING THE TAO: Today when you feel anxious about an outcome, stop. Inhale a breath of gratitude for what is, exhale to release the worry, then say, “life lovingly unfolds as it should for our benefit.”

My 2018 focus is to intentionally live the Tao Te Ching. This is my second reading of Stephen Mitchell’s translation. I share my daily interpretations hoping to inspire you to do the same.
