Allow the Natural Process

What’s the flow of life like? It’s like the water of a river. The river begins its journey as a child, entering a path that it follows without trying to make the path happen. As it is guided along the way, the water gains new elements that transforms it while cleansing and inspiring movement. Then, after a journey that is marked by time, it concludes by entering the whole. It never forces, worries or hurries. It happens at the pace it’s supposed to and arrives every moment as it should.

So is the flow of life when allowed.

When you strive to make the flow happen, you add obstacles to a natural process. When you choose to allow the flow, you take away your striving.

To master harmonious living—the natural process of your path—simply allow your life to flow.

LIVING THE TAO: Today, consider something you are trying to make happen. Visualize yourself holding it, forcing it to fit, then see yourself putting it down and walking away, allowing the outcome to happen as it should. Do that. At the right time, you will see that the situation will work out without your striving.

My 2018 focus is to intentionally live the Tao Te Ching. This is my second reading of Stephen Mitchell’s translation. I share my daily interpretations hoping to inspire you to do the same.
