Your perception is skewed because it is painted with your bias, so are you able to sincerely open to new learning?
Yes. You are able.
The Tao advises to, “Stop thinking and end your problems.” In the spirit of the Tao, suspend giving meaning to your thoughts. Welcome information untouched by your bias. Enter situations as an infant, new to the world.
Today as you engage in conversations and with situations, as much as you can recall, tell yourself, my thoughts do not mean anything. This will help you clear your biases for new learning.
In 2018, I read and reflected on the Tao Te Ching, and shared daily inspirations to inspire improved wellbeing. After my fifth reading, I transitioned to A Course in Miracles. Now, we continue our wellbeing journey together with ACIM in a Tao state of mind.

The way you perceive determines how you respond. But in all circumstances, there are multiple perspectives. If your perception is based solely on your perspective, then your behavior is likely out of place.
In the spirit of the Tao, practice setting your perspective aside to open to the reality that there is another way to view the situation.
Today, throughout the day, particularly in moments of emotional discomfort, remind yourself that initially nothing is as you see it in the moment.

Do you accept that the one consistent constant in life is change? While change appears to happen in an instant, change is partnered with time.
Along the continuum of time, things change making the saying, “there is a time for everything,” true.
There is uncertainty, then one day certainty.
There is pain, then one day joy.
There is life, then one day passing.
There is sadness, then in an instant laughter.
Rather than attach yourself to any particular moment, accept that moments change with time and simply experience them with wonderment and gratitude. This approach offers you increased peace.
LIVING THE TAO: Today, I invite you to reflect on the first, second and third interpretations along with this fourth and ask, are there any shifts you are prepared to make today in relation to aligning with the art of living as shared in the Tao?
My 2018 focus is to intentionally live the Tao Te Ching. This is my fourth reading of Stephen Mitchell’s translation. I share my daily interpretations hoping to inspire you to do the same.
Embrace your journey. Experience bliss. Live the Tao.

You have thoughts that repeatedly visit your mind. Vacate that place so their visits cease, as that cycle only serves to disrupt your peace. When you can see that most thoughts are noise and distractions, the origin of your troubles become clear.
But it is through understanding your own origin—our collective Source—that you can know peace.
Let go of the darkness—depression, confusion, anger, fear. Embrace your light—love, compassion, tolerance, courage. How? By prioritizing your connection to your Source, regularly…daily…moment to moment.
With this perspective, the world amuses you. With this perspective, your thoughts are easily settled. With this perspective, you can deal with whatever life puts before you with ease and grace.

While humans may play favorites, Life’s flow does not.
The flow whose design is to carry you through your synchronistic experiences is neutral, though it is influenced by your beliefs.
If you believe you are lucky, then you are. If you believe fortune is reserved for others, then it is. It is your disposition toward life that influences your synchronistic experiences.
Since this is the case, then why not just hold a steady center, embracing the truth of who you are? You are a being with the power to love, create and shape your fate.
Operating from your seat of power nullifies the game of favorites other may try to play.

]]>Concepts exist along a continuum. For instance, hot or cold, up or down, and done or undone.
The beholder’s perception determines the concept’s relative position.
Therefore, a Master does not cling to a relative position. She accepts fluidity and when working, performs only when action is required without attachment to accolades, for they too are relative. Working without seeking reward renders the work enduring.
What does this all mean? Release judgement. Complete the work before you. Let it be. Allow it to flourish.

]]>When we center our hearts and minds in the stream of life’s flow, we experience life with ease and grace. But many choose the path of control, opting to strive, struggle, and stress.
The path of control creates disharmony within ourselves and among our circle.
Weapons among diseases, waste amidst hunger, abundance existing with poverty—these dichotomies are the evidence of disharmony by way of control.
The path of surrender however, leads to harmony within and among us. The path of surrender offers freedom, expansion and grace.
Centering your heart and mind in the stream of life’s flow begins with your decision to do so.
LIVING THE TAO: Today, decide what you choose: striving, struggle and stress, or freedom, expansion and grace.

Beyond pain is pleasure
Beyond chaos is calm.
Beyond failure is achievement
Though effortful to conceive in the moment, it is so.
The wise leans into life’s flow knowing that with her mind, fulfillment is inevitable when allowed.
LIVING THE TAO: Today, consider something that is not going your way. Hold your intention for the desired outcome. Release physical and mental control, then step aside allowing life to flow. In time you will experience fulfillment.

]]>If there were no such idea as religion, who would you be? Would you not seek to do good onto others?
If there were no such concept as justice, how would you behave? Would your heart say, “be unfair to all?”
If there were no such thing as profit, what would you be? Would you be one who strives and competes?
Who would you be without these three?
There is a pureness within that seeks to express goodness.
Center your awareness on that rather than the effort to be good.
LIVING THE TAO: Today, sit silently for a few moments to respond to these questions. (This may require you to be open in your thinking.) Are you being the person in your responses? Are there adjustments to be made? If so, make them.

]]>Your perception colors everything you experience. If a situation is rewarding, it is because you see it as such. If someone is kind, it is because of what you perceive. But change one aspect in your mind and that situation becomes worthless or that person a brut.
Your mind determines how you perceive and without your guidance it will guide you. You though, ought to guide it.
In order to transform your state, transform how you perceive.
Perceiving in the negative, conjures negative feelings. Perceiving in the positive conjures a positive state.
What you see and how you feel comes from your mind.
A disciplined mind can transform what you see and how you feel.
It is your choice.
Will you discipline your mind?
LIVING THE TAO: Today, when someone or something irritates you, stop, breathe deeply and identify one positive thing in the situation. Amplify that thing by expressing gratitude for its presence and continue to do so until your state changes. This is one way to discipline your mind.
