Anything done in excess negates the effect of the original intention and upsets balance.

Sweets are soothing, yet too much leads to dis-ease.

Filling up maximizes, yet too much leads to waste.

Striving for money is for security, but the more you strive the more insecure you are.

Seeking approval leads to unhealthy codependence.

Overworking brings you to exhaustion.

Therefore, refrain from clinging to restore balance.

This is your path to peace.

LIVING THE TAO: Today when you feel yourself holding tightly to a desired result, step back, take a deep breath and say, “it will be what it will be.”

My 2018 focus is to intentionally live the Tao Te Ching. This is my second reading of Stephen Mitchell’s translation. I share my daily interpretations hoping to inspire you to do the same.
