Does something inside of you jump every time you hear someone talk about how powerful you are? You get excited and begin to think about all that you can accomplish. You envision yourself creating the life you’ve imagine. You walk away with a spark…and then the spark fizzles out as the days pass by.
Why does this happen? Is it laziness? Is it procrastination? Is it fear? It could be, or it could be something else: you don’t fully believe it.
In a famous verse from a sacred text—the Bible—it is said to “seek first the kingdom of God,” and all of your earthly needs and divine desires will become a part of your reality. (I paraphrased.) You may have read the verse before, but did you ever stop to ask yourself, where is the Kingdom of God?
If you believe the Kingdom is outside of you, then it can be difficult to transmute the verse to become a part of your being. If the Kingdom is out there somewhere in the cosmos, then how does one truly seek it? And if you can’t answer that question, then how can you truly believe? You can’t, and so, the excitement that comes in the moment you hear about your power dissipates as time goes by because of a subconscious disbelief. But, with a clearer understanding, that does not have to be the case.
So then, where is the Kingdom? It is inside of you.
Then what does it mean to seek it? It means to be on a continuous quest about who you truly are.
And who are you? You are an offspring of the Ultimate Source—God.
Okay, but what does that mean? That means that as an offspring, you have the DNA of God and the traits of God. You can do what the Ultimate Source does.
And what does the Ultimate Source do? Forgive, share love, and encourage to name a few things, but for now what you should keep in mind is create.
God has the power to create, and if you are an offspring of this Source with its DNA, then you too have the power to create. Daily life can drown out this memory and you can become caught up in concerns that are beneath you. You worry. This is why the continuous quest is necessary. When you “seek” daily and remind yourself who you are daily, the spark can never fizzle. Instead, the spark becomes a flame and you stay on FIRE!
So, redirect your thoughts. Become aware of what you feel. When your head aches, and your stomach churns because you’ve been worrying, ask yourself, “Have I done my daily seeking?”
If the answer is no, then get to it! Study who you are (seek the Kingdom that is within) and stay in touch with who you really are. It’s when you stay focused on this work, that your earthly needs and divine desires arrive to support your journey.
The “things” are added so you can focus on your work of seeking who you are and living your purpose.
