Most of your thoughts are past thoughts. This then means that the busy, overwhelm and stress are related to the past, yet the moment you are in is the present.
The Tao asks “Can you coax your mind from its wandering and keep to the original oneness?”
In the spirit of the Tao, practice awareness of your thoughts to reduce your overwhelm and stress.
Today try this: set your alarm for three random times today. When it goes off, notice what you are thinking. Is it a new present moment idea or is it a thought of the past? Only two percent of the time will it be new. If it is old, consider repeating this statement from ACIM for a minute, “My mind is preoccupied with the past.” This practice will bring awareness of thoughts in the present.
In 2018, I read and reflected on the Tao Te Ching, and shared daily inspirations to inspire improved wellbeing. After my fifth reading, I transitioned to A Course in Miracles. Now, we continue our wellbeing journey together with ACIM in a Tao state of mind.

In the spirit of the Tao, remember that how you choose to see, colors your reality.
Today in moments of upset, choose to see that it is a passing moment and you have the option to let go of the thought that is creating the upset.

The moment of the trigger has passed, yet you hold on to the emotion that harms your wellbeing.
In the spirit of the Tao, allow emotions that harm your wellbeing to come and go, just as this second has come and is now gone. Allow your heart to open by releasing the pain that your mind will continually remind you of if you let it.
Today, as you sense upsetting emotions, repeat the words offered by ACIM: I am upset because of something that is not here.

But what if that thing is not truly the blame? And what if holding the emotion is blocking your sight from seeing the true culprit?
The Tao says, color blinds the eye and thoughts weaken the mind.
In the spirit of the Tao, consider releasing the object of the blame so you can see the deeper cause of the emotion.
Today as you experience an upsetting emotion, remind yourself, “I am never upset for the reason I think.”

If you judge them as good, they provide a positive feeling, temporarily. If you judge them as bad, they render negative feelings that linger.
Practice taking yourself out of the emotional yoyo game.
In the spirit of the Tao, consider that thoughts and the judgements you place on them can hinder your acceptance of what matters most—the truth of who you are.
Today, set your alarm to go off three times, any time you choose. When it does go off, pay attention to what you are thinking. Notice how you feel and practice letting go of the meaning you have attached to the thought. This is the beginning of your path to inner peace.

]]>The truth is not palatable to those who are not ready.
Wisdom, when shared requires no need to be proven.
Giving from a heart-felt place adds joy to the experience.
Authentic service to others makes one rich with rewards.
This is how Life’s flow works for you: honesty, wisdom, joy and rich rewards. The more you accept, the more it will give; the more you give, the more you will receive.
LIVING THE TAO: Humble yourself to receive feedback you do not enjoy and allow yourself to grow from it. Hold your tongue for the truth speaks. Be a blessing for others and you will be blessed. Flowing with Life is this manner makes for an ease-filled life.
In 2018 my focus was to intentionally live the Tao Te Ching. Now I continue into 2019 with my fifth reading. I share my daily interpretations hoping to inspire you to do the same.
Embrace your journey. Experience bliss. Live the Tao.

The wisdom of Life Energy is omnipresent. Within each person and beyond, it flows.
The practice of aligning with its flow holds the potential for increased balance in your relationship with self and others.
Allowing this flow expands inner and outer peace.
Understand that while you may guide outcomes, you do not control them.
Only Life’s flow with its timing and synchronicities lays outcomes before you. Since you do not control outcomes, then why worry? Just let Life flow and relax.
LIVING THE TAO: The question is simple: since you do not control outcomes, then why worry?
My 2018 focus is to intentionally live the Tao Te Ching. This is my fifth reading of Stephen Mitchell’s translation. I share my daily interpretations hoping to inspire you to do the same.
Embrace your journey. Experience bliss. Live the Tao.

Remember, as you hold contempt toward another, she is a human being like you.
Remember, as you plot to bring down another, his heart beat keeps him alive just like you.
Plans to harm someone are easily maneuvered as a plan to harm you when the players change.
Remember that we all breathe the same air and share this earth as you wound the life of another.
And remember, if what you want is peace in the end, then make peace in the beginning.
LIVING THE TAO: Are you experiencing a broken relationship you would like repaired? While it is broke, you are literally harming your heart and perhaps the other person is hurting too. Since tomorrow is promised to no one, begin the work of repairing now.

A rooted tree may bend in strong winds, yet when the winds pass, the tree remains rooted.
Are you rooted in your beliefs like the tree in the ground?
When the winds of trouble blow, do you fly away with worry and doubt or do you withstand the winds remaining firmly rooted.
If you blow away with fret, what then do you believe?
Assess your actions against what you say you know.
Practice living why you say you know.
Let your restlessness cease by believing what you say you believe.
LIVING THE TAO: If you believe that you are cared for by the higher power that you are connected to, then spend time worrying about what you cannot control, you may need to do the deliberate work of understanding why that is. When you truly believe, you are able to rest during trouble.

An unsure foundation leads to imbalance.
The absence of deliberation leads to haste and waste.
The need to outshine others leads to your light being dimmed.
Certainty that only what you can control is real is the basis of shaky ground.
Trying to exert power over others reveals the lack of power over self.
Simply put, control and attachment to outcomes lead to dust. Allow Life to flow in its natural progression for your mind’s peace.
LIVING THE TAO: Are you stressed out trying to control events around you? If yes, you are inflicting suffering on yourself. Why are you doing that? Re-evaluate your need to control.
